CLOTHES - 2 GOWNS MADE FROM A RENUZIT DRESS!!

There are 3 TUTORIALS for
making 2 gowns with this
cluny lace.
Look for them as they are
titled:
1.Tutorial - Make 2 gowns - Part 1 - Basic's
2. Tutorial - Make 2 gowns - Part 2 - Gown #1
3. Tutorial - Make 2 gowns - Part 3 - Gown #2

I know this is going to be hard to
believe, but it is true!!
I went to the thrift store one day
and looked around.
Came across an ugly OLD RENUZIT
with the dress still attached.
Threw away the Renuzit!

OOOOooo and the dress was very
NASTY!!!!
You would not believe how soiled,
DOWN RIGHT DIRTY IT WAS!!!
It was so dirty that I HAD TO
BLEACH IT - NOT ONCE
BUT 3 TIMES!!!
That is the reason why some of the
lace is not white, white as
shown on the dress with the
2 pink bows in front.
It looks like 2 different colors
of lace was used.
Well, there weren't!!
The other dress is not as white
as it should be either, look
at the bottom row of lace
towards the right.
I could not get that section
white.
I thought that I was crazy for buying it!
Who in their right mind would want it.
RIGHT!!
Only me, I guess would take a
chance with it!!
Yes, I bought it!!!!
All I could think about was the
lovely Cluny lace that was on the dress and
how much that Cluny lace and the cotton
doily would have cost
if you bought it all separately, and
all the work it took to make the dress
for that Renuzit doll that once wore it!
This is what I made from that dress.
2 GOWNS!!!
Aren't they lovely!!!
Both gowns are displayed on
Dawn doll's gold manikins.
These manikins can be a little
flimsy.
Just put some clay in the base of
the manikin and let it harden.
It will stand then.
I want to make a Tutorial, so watch
for it!
I started with the gown on the left.
The gown on the left has the original
cotton bodice still attached to it.
To make the 2 gowns different, I cut off
the bottom row of Cluny lace to let
the lovely cotton doily show to its
full potential.

There was some excess doily so I used
some of it on the bodice and also
to make cap sleeves.
This covered up the large white cotton bodice
that the Renuzit doll wore.
By using the existing bodice, I did not have
to make the gown one.
I believe that a doll could wear this gown,
because the bodice is a little big.
It is the silk pink ribbon going around the
waist that would gather it up to fit a
miniature dollhouse doll.
Also I gathered up the neckline to fit a
miniature dollhouse doll.

This is the back of the gown on the
left.
No bow here.

The 2nd gown was made from the
leftovers after cutting the Renuzit dress.
Her bodice was made with some
of the scrap pieces of the cotton doily.
A miniature dollhouse doll must
be really skinny to wear this
gown!!

Sweet!!
A closer look.
This gown turned out so lovely.
I never would have guessed it!!

Thanks for stopping by!
